About Malachi
Meet Malachi! Your Sassy, Sweet, Big Blue-Eyed Husky!
A Gentle Giant With a Whole Lot of Love to Give
Meet Malachi, a handsome 7-year-old, 70 lb. Siberian Husky with the biggest doe eyes, classic Husky sass, and a heart that wants to love and be loved! This goofy, affectionate boy is eager to learn new commands and tricks, especially when treats, praise, and pets are involved. He may give you an occasional dramatic Husky sigh, but don't let that fool you—he's a smart boy who genuinely wants to learn and please his people!
Malachi's story is one of loss, not his own making. After his beloved owner passed away, the family who took him in was unable to keep him because they were moving somewhere that didn't allow pets. Through no fault of his own, Malachi found himself in a shelter, waiting for another chance at a forever home.
Malachi is a gentle, affectionate companion who loves being close to his humans. Once you've earned his trust, don't be surprised if he rolls onto his side to show off his belly and ask for some well-deserved scratches.
He quickly picks up many commands, responds well to his name, both indoors and outdoors. He walks gently on a leash, and is calm around people, children, and other dogs during walks on busy NYC streets. He enjoys being outdoors, playing games, hiking, and practicing his commands along the way.
Malachi has already experienced a heartbreaking loss, but he hasn't stopped looking for connection. He wants to be near his people, learn from them, share adventures, show off his goofy personality, and settle in, knowing he's finally home.
He's not looking for perfection. He's looking for someone who will give him time to adjust, provide the structure he appreciates, respect his boundaries, and help him become the best version of himself. In return, you get a big, beautiful affectionate and loving Husky who rolls over to offer you his belly .
Malachi would love an active family, committed to taking him on good long walks, and like any husky, providing sufficient exercise every day, training, and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be optimum. A tired, fulfilled Malachi is a happy Malachi!
Malachi is crate-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
His adoption fee is $500. Foster-To-Adopt is available!
