About Goldie
Some dogs have lived a thousand lives before they ever find a home. Goldie is one of them.
Goldie is an 8-year-old village dog who traveled all the way from Azerbaijan to Canada. She's now safe in foster care in London, Ontario, and looking for the family she's waited years to find.
Before coming to Canada, Goldie endured an incredible journey. She was rescued from the streets covered in papillomas. For six months, she lived in a veterinary hospital, undergoing surgery every couple of weeks as veterinarians patiently removed the growths one by one. Once she had recovered, she spent the next couple of years waiting in a dog yard for her chance to come home.
Despite everything she's been through, Goldie is gentle, kind, and full of quiet joy.
She likes to take life at her own pace and can be a little slow to get moving, so she's hoping for someone who enjoys leisurely walks and will patiently encourage her. Once she's up, she's happy to wander alongside you, taking in the world one sniff at a time.
When she's feeling playful, Goldie has the sweetest happy dance. She doesn't zoom around the yard. She bounces, lifting herself into joyful little hops that are impossible not to smile at.
Goldie is also wonderfully musical. She loves to sing, and her howls are so contagious they've inspired dogs that have never sung before to join the chorus. She even enjoys listening to music, often tilting her head as though she's carefully studying every note.
She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions nearby.
Goldie has survived the streets. She has endured months of surgeries and years of waiting.
Now she's ready for something she's never truly had.
A family who chooses her.
If you have room in your heart for a resilient, gentle soul with a playful bounce and a beautiful song, Goldie is ready to meet you.
She is spayed, vaccinated, and ready for adoption.
