Meet Hugo!

At just 2 years old, Hugo is an amazing tripod who has already traveled an incredible journey. Rescued from the streets of Azerbaijan, this handsome Anatolian Shepherd has made his way to a loving foster home where he is s finally getting the chance to experience what it means to feel safe, cared for, and loved.

Hugo is the definition of a gentle giant. He has a calm, affectionate nature and absolutely adores people of all ages. Whether you're greeting him for the first time or curling up on the couch for quiet cuddles, Hugo is happiest simply being close to his humans. He loves hugs, kisses, belly rubs, and spending time with the people he trusts.

One of his favorite pastimes? Stretching out in the yard and peacefully watching the world go by. He's perfectly content just soaking up the fresh air and observing life happening around him.

Hugo also enjoys the company of other dogs and is eager to make friends. He's lived peacefully alongside another dog during playdates, enjoying walks, playtime, and relaxing together.

Around the house, Hugo is a dream. He's quiet, settles beautifully when left alone, rides wonderfully in the car, and isn't bothered by loud everyday noises. He's respectful when being handled, enjoys his daily brushing sessions, and is simply an easy companion to have nearby.

Hugo may be a tripod, but don't let that fool you! He handles walking and running like a champ, and loves to admire the scenery on walks, especially if there's a nice patch of grass involved! Spotting another person or dog usually motivates him to happily get moving again.

He is incredibly smart, sensitive, and deeply connected to his people. He's beginning to show the loyal, watchful instincts his breed is known for, occasionally wanting to be close to his foster mom or politely nudging in for attention. He has never shown aggression toward people, he simply wants to be part of the love.

More than anything, Hugo is looking for someone who will see beyond his past and appreciate the incredible dog he has become. He's affectionate, goofy, gentle, loyal, and endlessly deserving of a family to call his own.

After surviving life on the streets, Hugo is finally discovering comfort, security, and unconditional love. Now all he needs is a forever family to complete his journey.
